Why I Chose to be Human...

Nothing here is permanent. Life on Earth will end. None of us make it out alive. And yet… that is fucking beautiful.

Nature shows us every day the sacred cycle of life and death. A tree begins with fresh spring greenery, full of life and wonder. As it ages, it grows, collects leaves, then releases them as the seasons turn. The leaves dry, crumble into dust, and return to the soil… becoming nourishment again. Life is like this. Painful, dense, and lonely at times… and still, breathtakingly magical.

Being human is a process of beauty at its core.

It’s in the connections that take our breath away, the embrace that holds you, the soul-to-soul moments that remind you you’re not alone, the love that is unseen and yet so deeply felt. That is pure magic.

But most of all, I chose to be human for the alchemy. The power we each hold to transform any moment. To shift pain into wisdom. To turn sorrow into beauty. To see endings as beginnings. The ability to change, adapt, and create is nothing short of magic.

And it is all ours…

My Soul’s Awakening

As a child, I often felt like angels were watching me. There was a constant unseen presence, day and night. I noticed it while playing hide and seek in the basement, walking to meet a friend, or even just passing by houses. Honestly, it scared me and made me anxious most of the time.

I would talk to fairies, not realizing then that these “fairies” were really angels helping me make sense of my gift. By high school, the presence of angels became stronger. I would hear footsteps running around the house, my bedroom door opening on its own, and sometimes even the sound of someone breathing nearby. It was unsettling.

When I told my mom, she explained that many people in our family, past and present, had the same gift of connecting with those who have passed on. That gave me comfort, knowing I wasn’t alone. Around that time, a friend’s mother passed away. She came to me through dreams and feelings, which helped me understand what it meant to connect with love and light from the Other Side.

At 22, I answered the deeper call; to walk with the ancestors, to listen more intently, and to offer my voice in service. I devoted myself to the path of mediumship, sharing messages from those who had crossed over. Through individual sessions, group gatherings, online spaces, all around the world. That chapter became more than just service, it became my own initiation.

As I channeled for others, I was being changed from the inside out. Old patterns began to crumble and long-held, generational beliefs started to unravel. I began to see the world, and myself, with new clarity. It was a dismantling that shook me to the core, and a sacred awakening that eventually led me to the Rainbow Bridge of my soul.

I tell the full story of that discovery in my memoir, Blessed by Angels: A Memoir of a Medium.

Soul Exploration on The Beauty Way

Around that time, I began working with a medicine woman who introduced me to Incan shamanic practices. Under her guidance, I learned to travel my inner world… to enter and listen, to retrieve lost parts of myself, and to bring healing back into the body.

These teachings deepened my work and revealed how ceremony, ancestry, and direct experience can restore what has been scattered or dimmed. She taught me how to journey into the realms of Spirit to bring forth healing, remembrance, connection, and soul-level transformation. Together we engaged in deep shamanic healings, celebrations, and ceremony… profound experiences that forever shaped the way I walk my path.

My connection to the Seven Sacred Directions… the medicine wheel, elemental practices, trance, and drumming… became an integral part of my being. As I continued working with her, my relationship with my soul gifts deepened, strengthened, and amplified, calling me to trust them fully and to step into action.

My Life will NEVER be same since this powerful woman came into my life.

We later spent a year sharing teachings of this beauty path. “The Modern Sages Podcast”.

The Sacred Call Home

During this time, I also began working with students — supporting them through grief and loss, helping them explore their spiritual gifts, and opening them to energy healings and channelings. It was here that I began putting into practice the tools I had spent two years learning along the shamanic path.

I started offering both small group gatherings and one-on-one sessions. Together, we dove deeply into their spiritual gifts, journeying through the Medicine Wheel and the elemental teachings. I guided them in entering trance states through meditation, helping them access the inner realms where wisdom, healing, and guidance reside.

What I didn’t expect was the profound reciprocity of this work. As I held space for them, witnessed their breakthroughs, and walked with them through their own awakenings, my connection to Spirit strengthened — deeper and deeper with every client, every circle, every breath of this sacred work.

Soon after, I felt the call to shamanic journeying with plant medicine. My soul led me to the perfect space holder, a true teacher of the plant spirits. She was everything I needed. She held me with such presence and taught me it was safe to simply be, to express the me I had always longed to be. She encouraged me to lean into my edge, to share more openly, and to see myself as someone bigger.

My first introduction to plant medicine was powerful an experience I will carry with me forever. In that ceremony, I entered my heart and witnessed a layer of myself die. It was painful and beautiful all at once. I was shown how deeply transformative plant medicine can be when approached with reverence and held in the right way. I do not believe everyone is meant to walk this path, but for those who feel called, it can be profoundly healing when carried with sacred intention.

Soul Living on the Road

We moved into an RV and set out on the open road. Living the nomad life has been nothing short of a dream come true. Each mile has become a crash course in the sacred truth that nothing is permanent. We choose to stay about a month wherever we land…. long enough to breathe with the land, to feel its heartbeat, and to listen to the stories it has to tell. Settling into that rhythm has been humbling, at times challenging, but always a beautiful gift.

“As we embark on this new adventure of ultimate freedom, I am reminded of the temporary state of this human existence. There have been moments of pure overwhelm and magical moments of pure bliss. Things break, energy shifts, and stability is lost and found. Such is the wild game of life. We are not promised tomorrow; we never know if this meal, sunset, or tender kiss will be the last. In a world full of loss and confusion, answers are found. Freedom starts within the mind, adventure grows in the spirit’s glow, courage comes in ebon flow, and stability is anchored in the earth below. As we embark on this new adventure, we know we will find ourselves deeper as our love intertwines.”

Along this journey, I began inviting others into the path of earth magic, and in doing so, I uncovered an ache in my bones, an ancestral pull reminding me it was time to remember my own lineage. So often, in our spiritual connection to the Earth, we look outward to the mountains, rivers, forests, and deserts around us. But every land’s healing carries the imprint of the histories it has held. I realized I had been missing a part of myself.

As I entered my 30s, the call of my ancestors shifted. They no longer pulled me outward into the wide world but inward… deep into the landscape of my own soul. There, in the marrow of memory and bloodline, I began to hear them clearly. Their call was simple yet profound: return to your roots.

Soul Remembrance

As I approached my 30s, the call of my ancestors grew louder in a different way. They weren’t pulling me outward into the world but inward—into the wild, sacred landscape of my own soul. From that call, Bridging Realms was born—a response to the ancient rhythm in my roots, a remembering of the heritage etched into my bones.

It was here that the teachings of Seiðr began to rise—not as something new, but as a truth I had always carried. Seiðr is an ancient Norse and European form of magic, a shamanic art of weaving fate, trance, and prophecy. Guided by the völva, the wise woman and seer, this tradition bridges the seen and unseen, the human and divine, the earthly and ancestral.

Through this remembrance, I began to understand Seiðr not just as an external practice, but as a living current moving through my soul — a sacred calling to see, to feel, and to weave energy between what is and what is becoming. These teachings showed me how to walk, and eventually how to dance, between realms: the seen and unseen, the human and the divine, the earthly and the ancestral.

This path is both my passion and the call of my soul…  to support others in their sacred rite of passage. A return to roots. A remembering. A homecoming to the soul. Through this work, I hold space for the unraveling, the reclaiming, and the reweaving of what was never truly lost , only waiting to be remembered.  The most amazing feeling is touching the light and weaving it into our bridge. The bridge between realms, between life and love, between the choices we get to make. To realize that this life, right here, can actually be so fucking magical.

“I choose to live. I choose to breathe fully into this life. And every day, I choose the lengths I am willing to go… to honor this path, this body, this soul. I am so excited to see where this goes and what unfolds. Great weavers of fate… I am here, I am ready, I am open.”
